
What a year! Longtime OKASA member Alexa Halko won 3 medals in track at the Paralymic games in Rio. Alexa trained with OKASA from when she was 8 years old until she and her family moved out of state last year. Currently the world record holder for the 800 meters, Halko won two silver medals in the Women’s 400m, 800m, and bronze in the 100m. Congratulations, Alexa!
Shad Issac also had a wonderful year and is currently the National Champion of Paralympic Kayaking in 4 events: 200m (K1), 200m (Z1), 500m (K1) 500m (Z1).
